Art versus Craft

The age old discussion, on 'is it art or is it craft', brings about various and diverse, definitions and trains of thought. Below are my meanings and thoughts on this very undecisive issue, take from it what you will.

My definition of art is: an object or item that stirs the soul and/or spirit of another in some form or fashion, but this object or item serves no function, except to stir the soul or spirit of the beholder or others.

My definition of craft is: an object or item that stirs the soul and/or spirit of another in some form or fashion, and this object or item is functional, it serves a purpose, and not necessarily just to the beholder.

Can an object or item be both art and craft? Yes.
